DAKAR 24’

STAGE 4 - RIYADH TO AL HOFUF

Turning right off the highway facing endless dunes, letting down the tire pressure, I head out for my very first Dakar experience. A few kilometres in I come across a few other dedicated spectators and settle in for the coming storm of noise and dust! First came the enduro bike leaders, the top riders not slowing as they crest the dune peaks, sending them flying through the air. Then the Ultimate class cars came! Electric Audi’s, rally raid Hilux’s and the stage winner Sebestian Loeb in his BRX smashing through the soft sand, appearing as though breaching a wave of sand. What an experience! Next year I will be following along for many more stages!
